4’ x 8’ x 2” genuine Alberta ammolite fossil and mixed media on cradled wood. Mt. Lorette Ponds in Kananaskis, Alberta has different beautiful colors of algae that create all kinds of deep greens and turquoises. The ponds are fed by underground springs and don’t freeze over in the winter. In the painting I’ve recreated an impressionistic rendering of trees reflecting off of the ponds with the Alberta ammolite fossil used to depict colourful leaves on the branches. You will notice ghosts of ammonites in this hauntingly beautiful rendering of a fifty million year old history. The Alberta ammonite is special because it’s the only ammonite in the world that has bright beautiful metallic opal like colors.  Shipping Included to Canada and the US
