4’ x  8’ x 2” genuine Alberta ammolite fossil and mixed media on cradled wood.  Looking deep into Grassi Lakes you will see logs on the bottom of the crystal blue water.  It is so beautiful it feels like you could dive right in but it’s oh so icy cold.  The Alberta ammolite fossil is added to the painting and flows along with ghosts of ammonites in this hauntingly beautiful rendering of a fifty million year old history.  The Alberta ammonite is special because it’s the only ammonite in the world that has bright beautiful metallic colors similar to opal.  Look carefully and you will see a centre swirl of the creature as well as well preserved chambers from the inner workings of the ancient ammonite.
